SCAR CAMOUFLAGE
Scars on your body and face can leave you feeling imperfect, uncomfortable and lacking confidence. The scar camouflage tattoo has been a long-term solution for disguising scarring, achieved through infusing pigment into scar tissues.
Utilising the right colours, we start by using the highest-quality pigments and implanting colour pixels into your scar. This treatment mimics your skin tone and blends the scar with the surrounding skin, giving your scar less appearance.
The general rule of scar camouflage is that any scar can be camouflaged or re-pigmented as long as it’s not a keloid and it’s healed completely. This means that the source of the scar itself is not as important as its look and feel.
We usually recommend waiting for 6 months to a year or longer if necessary, for the scar to fully heal after surgery or injury. Once fully healed, colour correction can be applied to:
- Surgery caused scars
- Injury caused scars
- Stretch marks
- Cleft lip and palate scars
- Age spots
- Burns
- Hypopigmentation
- It’s important to note that the best kind of scars to camouflage are stretch marks since they are flat and much paler than the surrounding skin.

As previously mentioned, most scars can be camouflaged. However, there are certain skin conditions that can make it difficult or unsafe to do a successful camouflage procedure. Those conditions include:
- Keloids
- Spider veins
- Hyperpigmentation
- Thinned, translucent skin

The immediate side effects are not that bad – they come down to some redness and minor swelling. This should go away within a day or 2 (if it doesn’t, you might be developing an infection).
But the treatment carries the risk of infection, since the skin is broken, and allergic reactions to the products. An allergic reaction can be prevented with a patch test, but the possibility of infection is a greater concern which is why you need to follow the aftercare to prevent from any infections.
